My view on plus-sized models?

So I wanted to submit this entry to a contest that caught my eye about 3 hours ago, but because out of habit for not reading the T&Cs, I didn't realise (although I should've) that there were certain conditions (e.g age) that I couldn't fulfil. So I guess I'll just post it here! I chose the topic "What are your views on plus-sized models?" and so goes my train of thoughts.

"Boys go gaga over tall, slim and pretty models while girls envy other 'It' girls. When we mention 'model', the first image that comes to people's minds are as mentioned - tall, slim, pretty. Not many would give a thought to plus-sized girls.

Come off it already. It is, after all the 21st century where change is constant. What's more, we have already heard of super thin models being banned from runways in certain countries, no? Not only tall and slim girls need some fashion advice and watch the television showing the runway, plus-sized girls need advices and are watching the television too. But why must 'beautiful girls' be associated with tall, slim and pretty? There are, as we all have heard of before, two types of beauty. One is outer beauty and the other, inner.

And so what if some girls are tall, slim and pretty? They may not have what it takes to be a model. Whereas some plus-sized girls who look healthy, radiant and confident show that they do have what it takes to be a model. Which brings us to what every top model have - Confidence.

It is not a must to be tall, slim and pretty to walk on the runway. All you need is some confidence. As long as you think you look great in whatever outfit you're wearing, you don't have to be afraid of negative comments passed off at the slip of a tongue. Tall, slim and pretty girls are often chosen to model because they are supposed to 'look better' in designers' designs when compared to normal sized or plus-sized girls wearing them. That is not always true because I have seen plus-sized build girls wear the same outfit as slim-build girls but look nicer in the outfit.

If literally every single model is tall, slim and pretty, and if super thin models are still allowed to walk on the runway in the long run, then the future would be bleak with kids trying to starve themselves or vomiting whatever they eat in account of trying to look like their favourite pop stars or models. Then people will start dying of starvation when there is still tons of food being passed around. If plus-sized models are plenty, then when kids turn on the tv, they do not have to worry about their size and can have favourite plus-sized pop stars or models and when they try to be like them, they don't have to starve themselves or puke in the toilet all the time. But then again, they might gorge down food to look like their favourite models. Hmm..

Maybe we should talk about average girl-next-door models.
"

YEAH I KNOW. WHATEVER RIGHT. Well, I'm just saying!

Shall post about SG Flyer tomorrow because it's getting pretty late.
Stay well and healthy and fun and funny!
